Loyola University Medical Center's Blood Bank is in search of a certified MLS/CLS/MT to join our family on the 3rd shift.
We're an academic medical center serving very active stem cell and solid-organ transplant programs, Hematology/Oncology programs, Level 1 Trauma and Departments of Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
The ideal candidate is able to work independently, is self-motivated, has some Blood Bank experience and is confident in their technical expertise. We will consider new graduates as well.
We offer a third shift differential of $3.75/hour.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing Blood Bank laboratory procedures on patient samples and donated blood. This includes serological testing, component preparation, inventory and inspection of blood products, patient problem resolutions, equipment and reagent quality control, and documentation of the work performed.
Job Requirements:

  • Must satisfy CLIA88 requirements for testing personnel for high complexity testing.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in clinical laboratory science or related field.
  • Certification in the following registries: Blood Bank Technologist(BB(ASCP)) or Medical Technologist, American Society of Clinical Pathologists (MT(ASCP)).
  • High degree of computer literacy, knowledge and ability to use laboratory/hospitals information systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge and ability to use automated and conventional laboratory equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to act in a professional manner with individuals at all levels.
